Sony Dvd Region Hack Codes

Sony Dvd Region Hack Codes Rating: 4,3/5 8010 reviews

Sony BDP S350 bluray - unlocking to region free Yes, it is possible, but you'll need a programmable remote - most use the 'one for 3/4/6/all'. You can hack it by using the same code as for the bdp-s350. May 06, 2015  how to unlock the region code on your regular player using video help.this clip was taken from my supersonic dvd player review video as linked above. Category People & Blogs.

Have you ever been in a situation where you rent or buy a DVD or Blu ray disk, insert it in your player and you get the message ‘ region not allowed’? Sounds frustrating, doesn’t it? However you will be able to play that same disk when you know how to go about making your blu ray player region free. This is precisely what we are going to discuss in this article.

Part 1: What is region code?

The region codes can be defined as pieces of data which are embedded in the DVD or BR disk as a form of restriction. Your player will read this region code and in case it is not compatible with your local region code then the disk isn’t going to play. Since this data is region specific the disk would only be read or played in a player which was manufactured in that specific region. These region codes are Digital Rights Management (DRM) techniques which permits the studios to control a film release across different regions. The fact that these discs come with an embedded digital code would make it impossible for you to play it on your home DVD system. These disks would only be playable in the DVD systems of North America. Region codes in DVDs or BR disks help to boost the box office sale of the concerned movie across various countries so that all the vested parties can reap maximum profit.

Blue Ray Region Code:

You will find 3 distinct Blue Ray region codes which are classified alphabetically – Region A, Region B and Region C. Region A covers entire North and South America along with South East Asia. Region B covers all of Europe, Middle East and Africa along with Greenland and the French territories. Region C encompasses the rest of the globe including China, Russia and the rest of Asia.

Now that you know how the region codes function, let us come to the more important part of the article ie. how to make your blue ray player region free.

Part 2: Hacking off your BR player

You will not be able to hack off all makes and models of DVD players. For example the DVD/BR players of Toshiba cannot be hacked under any circumstances. With a sony player you will require to download a CD image, then burn it into a disk and then play the disk in the player. The most hack friendly player is Samsung but then again a firmware update is issued which disables the hack by resetting the region code. If you have a Philips player then consider yourself lucky since almost all of their BR/DVD players are hack friendly.

The process of hacking is extremely easy and we are going to take you through it step by step.

  •  The first thing you need to do is open your internet browser and go to www.videohelp.com . This is a very useful site which comes with a special section dedicated to disk hacking.
  •  Now you need to search for the model number of your DVD player.
  •  Check out the instructions and your player is all set to be hacked.

Now imagine you own a Philips DVP2880. For hacking this player you need to turn on the power of the DVD player without any disk inside it. Now you have to go to setup and then go to preferences. Highlight preferences and hit on Next Chapter> Previous Chapter< Next Chapter> Previous Chapter<. The current region code will be exhibited by the OSD. Now you need to press the navigation up or down button and choose your desired region. Ideally you should choose 0 to make it region free. Now you need to press Ok so as to confirm your selection.

You need to remember that different models of players come with different methods for hacking off their region codes. Therefore not all hacks are going to work for your player. On videohelp.com you will find efficient hacks to thousands of models. Once you have programmed your DVD player you will be able to play disks from Korea, Australia, Sweden, Mexico or from whichever part of the globe you want to.

Part 3:Wondershare DVD creator

How to burn blu ray videos?

Now that you have successfully hacked your player the next thing you need to know is how to burn your bluray videos. A blu ray movie when played on a HD tv would almost be like a movie theatre experience right at your home. If you have a large BR disks collection then you should make sure to use a blu ray burning software so that you can keep a back up of your disks in case you lose the original ones.

One of the most comprehensive software to burn your Blu-ray Discs is the Wondershare DVD Creator (DVD Creator for Mac) which is fully compatible with all versions of Windows. This easy and effective software would help you burn your videos, audios and images with just a few clicks of buttons. Whether you want to keep a back up of your expensive DVDs Blu-ray Discs or want to burn the film collection on your hard drive, Wondershare DVD Creator (DVD Creator for Mac) would do the job for you perfectly. All you have to do is just drag the selected video file to the software, make the necessary adjustments in quality and finally hit burn. The Wondershare DVD Creator (DVD Creator for Mac) comes with an in build editor which would help you combine all your photos, music and videos into slide show or home movies. This software would allow you to burn the videos, audios and photos in almost any imaginable format. The built in editor of the DVD creator would even allow you to do basic editing on the video files. For example you will be able to rotate, trim, crop, or adjust the brightness, contrast or saturation for an enhanced visual experience.

I am a huge anime fan, and many of the series that I follow have not been released in the United States yet, so if I order them on DVD from Japan, I would not have been able to play them on my DVD player because of the Region Zone. That is, until recently.

Dvd hacks region free

For those that may not know, DVDs are hard coded for world use through zones. The current codes are as follows:

  • Region 1 - US and Canada
  • Region 2 - Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, and Greenland
  • Region 3 - S. Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Parts of Southeast Asia
  • Region 4 - Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America (including Mexico)
  • Region 5 - Eastern Europe, Russia, India, and Africa
  • Region 6 - China
  • Region 7 - Reserved for Special Use
  • Region 8 - Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc.
  • Region 9, 0, or All - Uncoded for Worldwide use

There are many reasons why this encoding is in place - licensing issues, censorship, but mainly money. Studios release movies at different times across the globe, and if it is available on DVD in the United States before it is released in France, they could potentially lose out on box office receipts if the consumer could purchase the DVD.

Consumers are often told if they have a Region 1 player, it will not play Region 2 disks. That is not truly the case. Most DVD players can be unlocked using a simple code from the remote.

In order to unlock your DVD player, you need two things: your DVD player model number and the hack found at VideoHelp.com/dvdhacks. This site is a search engine that lists thousands of hack codes to unlock your DVD player.

The latest player that I unlocked was a CyberHome CH-DVD 300 that I got from WalMart for $29.99. The process was simple and painless. Here are the steps I had to take to set it to uncoded or worldwide use:

  1. Power On
  2. Open Tray
  3. Press Menu, 1, 9
  4. Change Zone to 0 (third line from the bottom)
  5. Press Enter
  6. Press Open/Close (Eject)

  • I purchased a Mistral Select dvd player ($20 TOTAL!) on eBay, and it's a fabulous machine. It's region-free out of the box, and it has one unique and very appealing feature: it bypasses the FBI warning, the trailers and all the other annoyances and goes straight to the opening credits. Of course, if you want to view those things, you can press the MENU button to see them. NOTE: when you first hook it up, it might be rolling and in black & white on your monitor. Remedy: push NB on the remote several times to normalize the picture. Then press SETUP on the remote control, find LAST MEMORY and turn it off. Now you're open for business! You'll love the player. One more nice feature on the machine: there are control buttons on the front of the player. Unlike many dvd players that can only be controlled via the remote control, if your dog eats the remote, you can still play dvds or cds.

  • Funny how I'm not having any trouble playing a region 3 dvds on a region 1 player without an hacks whatsoever. Could someone possibly tell me why this might be? I'm not complaining but I'd like to know if its just a fluke with one disk or if I can run out and buy some JP/HK movies to watch without having to worry if they will be blocked. I have a Panasonic dvd-F65 and a Yamaha both region 1 and they successfully played Rob-B-Hood HK special edition which is a region 3 movie.

  • Hello how do I unlock region code on my Panasonic Blu-Ray dvd player SA-BT222

  • How do you unlock region code for Samsung DVD-P181

  • Hi. How do I unlock the regions for an LG HT503TH-A2 DVD player?

  • The comment(s) above has instructions which I thought will make the region-3 player become region-free. But it only changed the player to get locked to region-1. I found out when I tried region-1, region-3 and region-6 discs. Only region-1 played. Once I returned the numbers menu to the original default setting, only region-3 played.

I had received an anonymous comment in my blog with alternate instructions. I tried the alternate instructions (after returning the numbers menu to the original default), and found that my DVD player Samsung DVD-C350 is now region-free. I could play all the three discs of different regions without any 'Wrong region' message.

Click my name in this comment (not previous comments) to go to my blog post where I have posted the alternate instructions. The original comment by the anonymous person is also available. Thanks a zillion to Anonymous!

The above instructions could also work for DVD-C350K, DVDC360, DVD-C450 and DVD-C450K since they're in same series.

  • I have a Samsung DVD-C350 that's locked to region 3, and I wanted to play a region 1 disc. After trying everything I could find, I discovered that this works:

Make sure no disc is in player. Press Power button on player (not remote) to turn on player. Wait for No Disc message on TV screen. (The following buttons are on the remote.) Press Repeat (plain, not A-B). Press Fast Rewind (two arrows to left, no line). Press Next Chapter (two arrows to right with line). Press Fast Forward. Press Previous Chapter. Press Play.

You will get a menu full of numbers.** I don't know what any of the numbers mean but taking clues from instructions available for H1080 DVD players, I highlighted all numbers from 1 to 9. Use arrow buttons and Enter button to highlight or unhighlight numbers.

** NOTE: I recommend you backup the original highlights in the numbers menu by noting it down on the back of the player's manual or some place safe. You may want to revert to the original settings when you want to send the device for warranty or if something goes wrong.

Press Play button (on remote) to save the new highlights. The player will turn off. Wait 5 seconds then press Power button on player (not remote). You will get a Language menu. Select English (or any language) and you can pop in a Region 1 disc immediately.

This worked for my region 1 disc and my C350 DVD player played it like a piece of cake! I'm not sure if the above arrangement of highlights will work for other regions, but the instructions I found says it will make the player region-free. Do let us know if it works for you!

The above instructions could also work for DVD-C350K, DVDC360, DVD-C450 and DVD-C450K since they're in same series.

  • MODERATOR, please reject previous commment. I will post corrected comment after this.
