The film is partly inspired by the Telugu film Gang Leader.

Acclaimed actress Kani Kusruti, who we saw in the award-winning short Maa, has been roped in for a film Thadayam, which boasts of a full-fledged film shot in a single scene. Dhamayanthi, well-known in the literary circuit, debuts as the director and she adapts her own short story with the same name into the big screen.
Dhamayanthi was the former assistant of Meera Kathiravan and Bharat Bala. Ganapathy Murugesan from Koothu Pattarai plays the male lead. Thadayam touches upon the idea of marriage, of the concept that binds people together which is relatively new to Tamil audiences. Justin Khenaniah scores the music.
The film has been released on Youtube in Behindwoods Channel, and is garnering good response from the audience. It is a unique film, and the screenplay has been praised my many. The film is written and directed by Dhamayanthi.
It must be noted that Dhamayanthi had also worked on the subtitles for the film. The lyrics are written by Kutti Revathi and Dhamayanthi herself. The cinematography is by Antony Jey, and editing is by R. Pravin Baaskar. Watch the full film below:
