Why does the Raspberry Pi need a MPEG-2 licence? The license enables the mpeg2 stream to be decoded by the GPU instead of the ARM code. Could you please edit. Hi All I have owned a Pi since the release date so I am fairly familiar with it but I can't for the life of me get the MPEG2 license to work! I'm almost certain its something I'm doing wrong since I can't find anyone else with the same issue. Raspberry Pi 2: In this video, I go over MPEG 2 decoding on the Raspberry Pi 2 with and without the MPEG 2 License Key. I also go over installing the key on Raspberry Pi.

Hi, Any chance you could implement this hack into your Pi release of OpenELEC? The Raspbmc did it so maybe OpenELEC could do the same:) Thanks |
